在希望, the 圣经研究 major grounds students in the knowledge and interpretation of the Old and New Testaments and prepares them for a wide variety of career opportunities, including preaching and teaching in the local church. Hope 圣经研究 graduates also move on to careers that value the ability to analyze, 说明, and interpret information, 比如法律, 新闻, or secondary education.
This program also provides an excellent foundation for graduate study in religion and a possible career in academic teaching in the university or seminary setting. A 圣经研究 major will gain wide exposure to the variety of literature found in the Bible, informed by the best of critical scholarship and inspired by the desire to pursue research in service of Christ's mission through the church.
B.A. in 圣经研究 program is 120 units.
All 圣经研究 majors must complete a minimum of three semesters of internship under the guidance of a mentor in the local church. Students will be paired with mentors who share the student's career passion and goals. 例如, if a student desires to pursue a career in scholarship or teaching, churches that offer the best opportunities for the student to hone his or her classroom skills will be sought. In some instances a student may serve as an intern for a 圣经研究 professor, assisting in teaching, 分级, and other scholarly or pedagogical activities as determined by the professor.

This is why when you receive your degree in 圣经研究 our professors believe that you should receive the best training available in order to rightly pursue your calling.
3. To help other people serve the church and promote the priesthood of all believers
牧师s are not to do all of the ministry. At HIU we believe that we are not training up leaders to do all of the work. Instead it is our desire to build up leaders who can inspire and train all members of the church to serve God, 世界, 彼此之间.
4. Have a passion for preaching and teaching in the local church. Even if it is not in your role as a pastor
Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God! The church needs dedicated, trained, competent communicators of scripture. As someone who graduates with a ministry and biblical studies major you will have completed extensive training – both theory and practice – in the area of teaching and preaching the Word of God.
5. Have an opportunity for a life in scholarship and University/Seminary teaching
When you graduate with a degree in 圣经研究, you will have the opportunity to decide to continue your academic pursuits and go on to receive a master’s and a doctorate in a biblical/ministry related field. The foundation for the pursuit of advanced biblical and pastoral studies begins in Hope International University.
